Tension among the crew came to a head with a love-triangle, adultery and subsequent double murder by the leader of the expedition, Dr. Lisbeth Darrow.  It was said she sipped a Venusian martini in a zero G pouch when they came for her.  Completely insane, she told them over and over, "she keeps looking at me..." 
The bodies were never recovered.  There's a good chance the lovers will still be locked in their last embrace long after we're gone...  perhaps long after the universe goes dark.
